We are now accepting proposals for symposiums as outlined below. We look forward to receiving your applications.
■ The symposiums are scheduled to take place at Nagoya University on the afternoon of August 19th, the mornings and afternoon of August 20th, and the morning of August 21st.
Each slot is two hours long, and we have rooms that can accommodate approximately 100–120 participants.
■ The project representative (= applicant) does not need to be a member of the Japanese Society for Evolutionary Studies at the time of submitting the proposal, but at least one member must be among the project planners at the time the conference is held. For more information about the Japanese Society for Evolutionary Studies and how to join, please see the website:
http://sesj.kenkyuukai.jp/
■ Non-member invited speakers will be treated as invited guests in principle and will not be charged a participation fee. They may attend the entire conference. However, the Society will not provide travel expenses or remuneration. If they attend the social gathering, a participation fee will be required.
■ The Conference Executive Committee will decide whether or not to accept the proposed plan. We may ask you to reconsider the content, such as combining it with other plans. There will be no restrictions on overlapping speakers. The representative of the proposal will be notified of the outcome around mid-June, but the reason for the decision will not be disclosed.
■ Symposiums will be held face-to-face. The organizers will provide the usual equipment for face-to-face meetings at the venue.
